In life, not everything is always sharp or clear. Some aspects and details slip by unnoticed because they might seem unimportant, so we overlook them. Others are so complex and layered that even thinking about analyzing them makes us feel exhausted, leading us to procrastinate until we have more energy or fewer distractions. I have to admit, sometimes I'm a master of procrastination, putting all my skills to use avoiding things I'd rather not do—I'm sure I'm not the only one who does their taxes at the last minute!
But these are the moments when we need something special—a tool to bring clarity and precision. We need a magical magnifying glass! While finding such a powerful relic in real life might be challenging, in the realm of imagination, it’s easier. If it doesn’t already exist, we can create, summon, or invent it. Call it what you will, but bringing something into reality from the depths of our mind is a beautiful act of magic! This enchanted object is essential, and thus I’ve created a card dedicated to its power. It will make our readings sharper!
This card urges us to look deeper, focusing on the small, often-overlooked details (as the saying goes, "the devil is in the details!") that could hold significant meaning. These details may offer valuable insights, solutions, or even unlock hidden truths and mysteries. With the Magnifying Glass, precision and thoroughness are essential. It encourages us to be meticulous in our examination, leaving no aspect unexplored in our quest for clarity and understanding.
What makes this card special to me is its versatility. It can suggest both the subject we need to focus on and the approach we should take. For instance, the card to the right of the Magnifying Glass could indicate the object of our focus, while the card on its left might suggest the method or approach we should take. Here’s an example:
The Magnifying Glass and The Bear
This combination suggests taking a closer look at our strength. Perhaps we're underestimating or overestimating it; it’s all about understanding our power. The card encourages us to pay attention to any "weak link" in our actions or thoughts. The surrounding cards can provide further insight, helping us interpret this pair with greater precision. The Bear can also represent our greed or a potentially destructive attitude in a specific area of life, whether it’s an insatiable appetite for food, sex, money, knowledge, or something else.
Adding a card to the left of this pair can reveal even more interesting insights. Here are a couple of examples:
The Earth, The Magnifying Glass, and The Bear
The first card, Earth, suggests how to approach the situation—through love, empathy, and a gentle, delicate manner. Perhaps the issue we need to examine (whether it’s our greed, strength, or power) requires a softer approach. It might indicate that we're not fully ready to face reality, so taking it step-by-step would be wise.
If we draw the following triplet, things can get even more intriguing:
The Mountain, The Magnifying Glass, and The Bear
The Mountain usually signifies a blockage or obstacle—something monolithic that stands in our way! As a modality, this suggests a negative approach: we cannot examine The Bear (our strength, power, or perhaps our greed) without first overcoming a significant obstacle. This triplet highlights a challenging situation, where something is preventing us from clearly seeing what needs analysis. Our focus should, therefore, be on removing this obstacle first.
If we want further insight, we can continue adding cards to our reading. Let’s use The Magnifying Glass as we have been, in this special way.
Whenever we need more clarity about a troubling situation, we could place The Magnifying Glass on the table, add one card on its right and another on its left, then continue adding cards to deepen our understanding. In this example, we can add a card before The Mountain to reveal the nature of the obstacle.
I drew The Birds.
This might indicate the obstacle is an overwhelming amount of “chatter” or conflicting opinions. We may be lost in a jungle of information, unsure of what’s relevant or true versus what’s false. This paralysis holds us back.
At this point, you might feel as curious as I am to clarify The Bear. Let’s draw another card:
The Coffin.
I interpret The Bear here as the energy and determination needed to bring closure to a situation we’re unhappy to remain in.
In summary of this intriguing five-card reading: The Magnifying Glass advises us to silence our thoughts, ignore the noise of too many opinions, and sift through the information clouding our mind. Once we quiet this background noise, we’ll finally see clearly the power and strength we have to end a situation we dislike. At last, we’ll be ready to turn the page!
I hope you enjoyed exploring this new card and its unique uses.
Before I go, I'd like to extend my gratitude to all my followers and the backers of the Kickstarter campaign that made The Ghastly Lenormand possible. And today, it feels even more "real"—I’ve received the coffins! The fulfillment phase, the final step of the campaign, has officially begun!
To the next time
